Fox

Foxes are small to medium-sized mammals with long fur, pointed ears, and bushy tails: 
    • Appearance

      Foxes have a variety of coat colors, including white, tan, gray, brown, black, and red. The red fox is a well-known species with a red or orange appearance, white chest, black legs, and a bushy white-tipped tail. 

  • Size

    Foxes can weigh between 3 and 17 pounds, and stand around 40 centimeters at the shoulder. 

  • Senses

    Foxes have excellent senses of vision, smell, and touch. They also have long whiskers and retractable claws. 

  • Hunting

    Foxes are omnivores that hunt a variety of prey, including insects, reptiles, birds, and eggs. They use a pouncing technique to catch their prey. 

  • Communication
    Foxes communicate with each other using vocalizations, facial expressions, and scent marking.
